A useful recipe of pasta and home-made tomato sauce. Ideal for when time is of the essence when it comes to cooking a meal.
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • Spaghetti, penne or other type of pasta you want – about one pound.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar/ can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Seasoned with salt and pepper to customer’s preference.
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese on top to serve

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil; add the pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender to the bite. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions until they turn tender, around 5 minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Cook for about 1-2 minutes more then add the minced garlic.
  4. Mix the crushed tomatoes and dried oregano and dried basil into the sauce. And finally, the food can be seasoned with the spice that is required to make the food delicious that is salt and pepper. Stew for 10 minutes with intervals between stirring.
  5. Pour the tomato sauce that is already cooked into the skillet with the cooked pasta. Shake to give the pasta an even coating by the sauce.
  6. Spoon into serving dishes and serve hot, with extra grated Parmesan cheese if preferred.
